Isabelle Filion

Through an expressive pictorial technique, Isabelle Filion’s work offers a unique and contemporary look at the living model. The chiaroscuro effects highlight the subject which comes to life through a multitude of details and textures. While the model shows an introspection that calls for contemplation, the gesture brings a tangible and dynamic presence to the work. This creates a subtle balance between figuration and abstraction. Thus, the realistic details of the portrait go well with the frank and spontaneous gestures, rich in texture and transparency. Isabelle Filion loves to use vibrant colors that enrich and illuminate her compositions.
