Farruggello

Farruggello is a painter of French origin, now living in Quebec. Farruggello’s paintings stand out for their soothing atmosphere, which he emphasizes with earthy colours and Prussion blue. Since his return from a trip in Italy and France, he cannot forget the scenes that the canals and European architecture confer.

Farruggello

Farruggello is an artist, born in 1961 in Nice, France. Michel Farruggello became familiar with the artistic field by working in various coaching studios. He is hardly twenty years old, when he had already inaugurated his own gallery and has been managing it during three years, he continued to organize exhibitions in several studios and galleries in Nice.

It was only in 1989 in Quebec that he launched his own artistic production, revolving around painting. He studied in live model studios, hoping to get inspired by the architectural structures and urban environment, which he deconstructs playfully. In his initial acrylic paintings, he makes them up with masses of colors, and gradually adds perspective.
In 1994, he undertook a series of collages, merrily mixing painting and urban decor elements that he took pictures of.

Farruggello’s painting combines abstraction with realistic elements, along with bright colors, thereby contrasting paintings, the end result is dynamic and even audacious, a true witness of a mastery over medium and radical aesthetics. Less figurative, although still inspired by the urban aspect, the paintings of early 2000’s have made room for an abstract pictorial expression. Marked by more monochrome shades, the recent paintings are more pictorial where the notion of depth takes up a whole new meaning.

Through Earth tones and Prussian blue along with new compositions, he continues his quest for pictorial art. He has already exhibited in more than thirty public and private places (galleries, cultural centers, offices), solo or in a group, he managed to distinguish himself, by participating in more than one hundred paintings as live performances in Montreal. He is a member of the consolidation of visual artists in Quebec (RAAV).
