Danielle Lauzon
Danielle Lauzon was born in the Laurentians, although she has spent most of her life in Montreal. Since 2015, she has been living and painting in Ste-Julienne in Lanaudière. Over the years, Danielle has completed several courses and workshops in visual arts and art history.
Lauzon’s interest in art began in her youth. In 2007, she started working with abstract art and instantly adopted it as her own style. This form of expression allows her to make paint the subject of her work as a medium.
Since 2009, she has participated in more than thirty group exhibitions, both in Canada and abroad. She has also presented her work in various solo exhibitions across Canada. Her pieces can be found in several private and public collections, mainly in North America and Europe. Lauzon has also participated in international symposiums in Morocco, Jordan and Egypt.
The quality and uniqueness of Danielle Lauzon’s work become apparent as the viewers may change their interpretation of each piece with every new reading. For instance, an abstract work characterized by a strong informal and surprising colour treatment may be perceived at first. By observing the painting more carefully overtime, we can gradually detect more and more figurative elements that complexify the stories initially sketched out in our minds.
